Our Story

Welcome from the Vice-President

Dear Friends,

As Vice President of the International Institute of Theology at a Distance and on behalf of the entire educational community that composes it, I want to greet and welcome all those who are interested in meeting us and do so through this website.

The International Institute of Distance Theology was born more than 50 years ago in order to facilitate access to quality formation for all those members of the People of God who want to give reason for their faith and hope by being missionary disciples, witnesses of the Gospel and at the service of the Kingdom of God. Since then, the Institute has been present in the many Associated Centres in Spain, Portugal, America and Africa, which you can access from this website. Read more

Our pedagogy seeks the harmonious development and integral formation of people, based on Christian humanism and the values of the Gospel, and always supported by the Magisterium of the Church. We do not want to train experts so much as to educate people who can actively contribute to the construction of a better world from the Gospel.

The integration of new technologies in this distance education project facilitates accessibility to the contents, as well as the pedagogical accompaniment and monitoring of each student, so that they can be trained at their own pace and according to their interests and needs.
